This is fantastic! I love your hats, and I would so thrilled to win one.
ReplyDeleteIf I could pick any one, I would love to have the pink dragonfly hat. I would love to wear it to a cocktail party at one of the beautiful art deco hotels here in Chicago, with a sleek wiggle dress in beige silk and some red lipstick to brighten things up. And if I can find them, some gold shoes and a couple of pieces of chunky gold jewelry.
Thank you! And thanks for entering :)
DeleteI have been directed your way by a fellow hat-loving friend and I love your work. I've got a hard time choosing between the dark green cloche (there's a swing dance ball on this very weekend in my hometown) and the Countess Charlotte tricorn. I think in a pinch I'd have to go with the tricorn, simply because I already have the perfect outfit to go with it. I attend an annual steampunk live-action roleplay event and play a steampunk pirate decked out in green, cream and black. I'd wear it with my cream corset with military buttons, black bustle skirt, bronze goggles and to top it off my green, cream and black tailed pirate coat with enormous bell sleeves. The hat would set the whole outfit off perfectly, I'd be the envy of every other steampunk pirate to sail a dirigible. ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much and I'm glad you found me :) Thanks for entering.
DeleteThanks so much for running this giveaway! You were the one that inspired me to learn to make hats (though I make them in miniature for my sister's dolls), so it would be a dream come true to win one of your hats. It was really hard to choose, but in the end I think I'd have to go with the Sarah sinamay hat. It would look perfect with my favorite swingy blue and green satin skirt and cream top, and with a pair of red heels for contrast. I'd add a beautiful gold ring given to me by my grandmother and a pendant necklace, and wear the ensemble to a concert at the symphony hall in my hometown; its signature red accents would provide the perfect contrast to the green hat. Thanks once again for this opportunity!
ReplyDeleteWow! Thank you. I would love to see some of your doll hats. Thanks for entering :)
DeleteOh wow it's hard to decide! Mainly because my head is 58cm and the one I love probably will be too small for me. It's the Violet black cloche! I am slowly growing my collection of art deco goodies to wear to various events at Art Deco Weekend in Napier and I have a 20s inspired black lace beaded dress that would look perfect with it! Violet was my late grandmother's name which is also a treasured bonus. My big head makes finding a somewhat decent hat/headwear really difficult unfortunately. Being that it wouldn't fit me I would have to choose the Sarah Sinamay hat as it will fit me (yay!) and it would wonderfully compliment my charcoal tweed wideleg pants and cape which I could wear to an upcoming winter vintage event. To be fair it would be a delight to wear any of your gorgeous creations! So glad I spotted this link and was introduced to your work. .. thank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the compliments and for entering. The Violet cloche does fit me at 57cm, so it might be ok!
DeleteI just realised that I typed in the wrong hat, I meant the "Bobbi" Straw Hat instead of the Sarah Sinamay. The perils of viewing websites from my little screen on my smartphone, lol. The Bobbi would be perfect with my charcoal cape and pants :)
DeleteNo problem! Silly phones!
DeleteGoodness I'm in love with the "Bobbi" Straw Hat. It's positively perfect for a "Say Something Hat Day." I don't have an outfit for it yet, but I am already thinking of a dress to sew specifically to compliment it. It's going to be similar in color , probably a belted wiggle dress with some draping and a dark cape of some kind. I will also pick up some black or navy opera gloves. I can't get over that amazing feather, so that's certainly going to be the focus of the outfit.
ReplyDeleteThere's not much in the way of events where I live except for the ones my friends and I create for ourselves. I work at Disney, so some friends and I will often get all gussied up and hit the resorts for some photos ops, dinner, and music, etc. The hat would also mostly likely make it's way into a dapper day event once I get the dress sewn :)
You work at Disney! That's amazing and I am very jealous! Thank you for your entry :)
DeleteOh how exciting! I love all of your hats but my favorite one is the pink dragonfly hat because I just love the little dragonfly perched on the curls at the top. I am a pretty brave dresser so I might where this happy just to walk around town with my dogs. I think it would look amazing with one of the Mary Dresses from Hey Day Vintage, I have two a navy and a black one, but there is another grey one with a butterfly print I have my eye on, this hat would set it off to perfection. If you added pink gloves and pale pink shoes it would be a truly charming outfit. I'd wear it to the NYC
ReplyDeleteeaster parade where the very best hats in the city where the very best hats in the city are on display. I'd be attending with my husband who doesn't wear hats, and my pug Weasley who does. Weasley has a black top with a pink bow that is a copy of the hat worn my Fred Astaire in the movie Easter Parade. I think this hat would set off Weasley's to perfection, we'd be the envy of all the other Easter Parade attendees.
Kate Retro Rover
That sounds lovely! Thank you for entering :)
DeleteSo many beautiful hats! It's hard to pick just one, but my favourite would have to be the dark green cloche. I would wear it in winter as I go about my business in London. (I'm doing my phd at Greenwich). I have a purple felt cloak with a fur collar that I would wear it with. Showing off some black boots (which I might need to acquire to get the style just right) and of course, woollen tights to keep warm.
ReplyDeleteIf I win, I'll get some photos taken in a wintery (hopefully snowy) Greenwich park, and on campus (I'm at the old royal naval college). It's a world heritage site with the iconic canary wharf skyline in the background. It would be amazing!!
Thanks for entering Kristen :) That would make a very useful winter hat for London!
DeleteIt's a tough choice, but I think I'd go with the Lady Maria. I'd wear it to party or steampunk event, I think, or maybe just to wander around with to turn the eye. I have a long black coat with belled sleeves, a red chemise and black skirt set, and a black corset with silver detailing. I've also just acquired these beautiful coffin heel boots that would go a treat with it! And, I'm sure I've got a rapier prop somewhere that would be perfect.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the giveaway. I love your hats, and I'm always looking to add another to my collection >.>
Thanks for entering! I can see you in that!
DeleteWell being a lover of green, I would choose the green cloche hat. It would go with so many of my outfits, but one in particular is an outfit I have chosen for my cousins upcoming wedding. The vintage dress is an abstract floral pattern in dark green & purples, with a floaty pleated skirt. And I would team that with my 1950's dark green opera coat. Teamed with stockings & some vintage Mary Jane shoes & I'll be set! Xx
ReplyDeleteGreat choice! Thanks for entering :)
DeleteHi there
ReplyDeletethought I'd enter too. I love the mini top hats, I really like the black and red one. The dragonfly hat is special but don't know where I would wear it. So going back to the mini top hat, I'm not sure to an outfit but let me tell you about the outfit I wore last time I wore a mini top hat. The hat was black with a pink ribbon and feather and the outfit a black corset and a black and pink tutu. You could say I was dressed for Burlesque. If you look through my profile photo's you'll see a picture of me in it. So here comes the question where would I take your hat? To a wedding or an engagement party. I would take it to Ascot ( next year). I'm sure I could your hat a good day/ night out.x
Hi sweetie! Thanks for entering :)
